The Ancient Greeks believed that a body’s good health was vital as it is the vessel of the mind. The mind houses your humanity, and, therefore, exercise of the mind is just as important as exercise of the body for full maturing and development. The purpose of a human’s time on earth is to live the best, balanced life and to explore the unexamined facets that make us better men. Thus, the Balanced Man Ideal – living a life encompassing Sound Mind and Sound Body – was created to frame programming ideas.
The concept of a healthy body and an active mind filters through each one of our SigEp chapters. With the Balanced Man Ideal our members are expanding their minds while building their healthiest bodies.

Intramurals:
As already seen from the Balanced Man Curriculum, SigEp believes very much in both a sound mind and sound body. Because of this, our SigEp chapter takes intramurals sports very seriously. The MI Alpha chapter earned the title of Intramural Champions at the University of Michigan in 2008, 2010 and 2011, with a second place finish in 2009. The MI Alpha chapter earned their third Intramural Championship title in the last four years in 2011 with a strong effort from the entire fraternity.
